CANO has developed curricula and a data base to help New Orleans students better understand the career opportunities in creative disciplines. We hope this better understanding will encourage students to focus their studies and performance to help them gain entry to post secondary educational programs that will enhance their creative careers. We recognize the limited knowledge of this opportunities by teachers, counselors and parents and hope our courses will address that gap, and stimulate dialogue between students and their mentors that will open pathways to this growing industry sector, and enrich the unique cultural landscape of a city where the past is not past, but the future is also in play as artists of all disciplines look to build on our 300 year cultural history.   We are presently working to form alliances with organizations that have greater educational expertise and can help us replicate the program throughout our public and private educational systems.
