Digital Entertainment Associate (PT)

Job Description

The Digital Entertainment Associate supports the Business Development Department with strategic planning and implementation for the New Orleans Digital Entertainment (NODE) initiative in order to promote a stronger economic base in Orleans Parish.  The Digital Entertainment Associate reports to the VP of Business Development & Marketing or his/her designee.

Major Duties & Responsibilities supporting Key Results

  • Supports business attraction, business retention & expansion, and strategic partnerships
  • Performs research activities related to identifying sites or properties that can house new or existing NODE-related businesses interested in the New Orleans market.
  • Helps schedule, and possibly scribes, meetings with targeted companies and other NOLABA stakeholders.
  • Helps develop policies and procedures
  • Assists with accurate CRM documentation and reporting.
  • Supports Directors and Project Managers in maintaining reporting requirements.
  • Regularly reports to VP of Business Development & Marketing.
  • Helps complete a to-be-determined major assignment during tenure as a NOLABA intern.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Qualifications & Job Requirements
  • Experience and/or education within the digital entertainment industry (e.g. live performance, gaming, sound recording, film).
  • Certification from an accredited program or Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university desired.
  • Work comfortably in a highly collaborative environment; manage competing interests and strong personalities.
  • Ability to work well under tight deadlines and pressure.
  • Should have a proficient understanding of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Good communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Experience working in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multi-reporting and multi-tasking.
  • Good project management and reporting experience.
  • Good judgment and an understanding of when to escalate issues / problems, and to whom.
  • Professional demeanor at all times.
  • Ability to work in high-paced and sometimes demanding environment.
  • Ability to set and enforce priorities and deadlines.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to speak and hear.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the individual is often required to travel within the New Orleans area.

Associate Details

The start date of this part-time position is on or around December 1, 2012, and it will end on or around March 31, 2013. We prefer someone that can work part-time for 20 to 25 hours per week.
