Pastoral Universe
This installation consists of 2 suspended projectors, 1 channel video loop of leaves on branches blowing in the wind with an electronic sound track like dripping water, and a mirrored terrain projection surface. The vantage point is from inside looking out: into leaves, branches, into space; planets, stars, moving/living orbs, everything outside of us. The piece evokes a soft, marshy environment and/or a reflecting pool with an ever-changing fluid surface, while it also references the tree that is absent from the space, the universe as a whole, cellular activity, and particle space (which is, formally, dots and decorative “charged” space in medieval and renaissance painting)
